E-Learning

Parents and Guardians,

The Whale Branch Middle School staff appreciates your patience during this unprecedented school closure. Our staff is working diligently to continue our students’ learning while they are not in school. Our community is strong and committed to the safety and health of all students and families.

All Whale Branch Middle teachers will be posting review assignments in Google Classroom. Please have your children check Google Classroom and complete work daily starting tomorrow (3/17/2020) so that they can remain engaged with learning and prevent regression in their skills. If you have questions about assignments, teachers can be contacted directly through Google Classroom or through email. All instructional resources can be accessed through the following link https://launchpad.classlink.com/beaufort.

If your student(s) do not have internet access at home, paper packets will be provided for all grade levels and subject areas. Packets will be available at Whale Branch Early College High School throughout the school closure. Our first point of contact is to follow the teacher instructions for work submission when possible, such as email and photos of work documents. As an alternative for those unable to submit online, drop off boxes will be set up for packet collection at WBMS of the beginning Friday, 3/27, 2020.

Please follow these instructions for drop off of student work packets:

· secure each packet separately in an envelope or plastic bag

· label each packet with the student name, teacher name, class period, & subject.

· leave the packet in the appropriate grade level box located at the front of the school.

· ensure the box lid is securely closed.

· continue to exercise social distancing during the drop off process for the safety of yourself and others.

Grab and Go breakfasts and lunches will be prepared and transported to 12 sites across the county: Battery Creek High, Beaufort High, Beaufort Middle, Bluffton High, Hilton Head Island High, James J. Davis Early Childhood Center, Okatie Elementary, Red Cedar Elementary, St. Helena Elementary, Whale Branch Middle Middle School, Whale Branch Early College High and the Port Royal YMCA. Students must be present at the time of pick up. All food will be “grab-and-go,” with no food consumed on site. No one will be allowed in the school buildings. Breakfast items will vary and may include cereal with milk, fruit, Fruit Frudels, whole grain Pop Tarts, cereal bars, and juice. Lunches will be sandwiches, fruit, fresh vegetables and milk.
