Mrs. Amy Simmons Robinson

Mrs. Robinson is in her 8th year of teaching instrumental music at Whale Branch Middle School. A native of the Beaufort County area, she graduated from Hilton Head High School where she was a member of the Seahawk Band playing Tenor Saxophone in Concert, Jazz and Marching Band and also serving as Drum Major. During high school, she was also an active participant in South Carolina's All-State/Region Bands, Solo & Ensemble, Jazz & Concert Festival and Marching Contests. 

Mrs. Robinson attended South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC continuing her participation in Jazz, Wind, and Concert Ensembles and a member of the Marching 101. She graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. She holds a Masters of Education from National University in La Jolla, CA and is presently enrolled at South Carolina State University in pursuit of her Doctoral degree. 

Representing Whale Branch Middle School, Mrs. Robinson was recognized as Beaufort County School District's Teacher of the Year for the 2014-15 school year. Currently, she serves as the Academic Arts team leader while teaching Beginning, Concert and Steel Band. Mrs. Robinson is a strong believer that all students can learn and uses music as the motivating factor in bringing all core curriculum skills together in the music classroom. 
In her time away from school, Mrs. Robinson enjoys being with her family. Married in 2016, she is still considered a newlywed and loves spending time with her husband and their new son. She also serves as minister of music at home church on Hilton Head Island, SC where she teaches religious choral arrangements and provides piano accompaniment during church services.
